Novuhair Supports Alopecia Areata Awareness in Celebrating Inner Strength

September marks the month-long commemoration of Alopecia Areata awareness worldwide. Alopecia areata is a condition when hair loss occur due to faults in the immune system attacking the hair follicles which results in partial or total loss of hair on the head and other parts of the body.

Leading this year’s celebration in the country is Alopecia Philippines, a group founded by singer and songwriter Abby Asistio in 2012. She has been championing the cause of empowering citizens with this condition.

Abby is no stranger to alopecia, having been diagnosed with alopecia areata since she was four years old. Abby’s decision to come out in public with her condition was a major turning point in her life.
On September 2012, Abby decided to start an online campaign in time with Alopecia Awareness Month by inviting family and friends to pose with the double “A” (inverted “V”) sign using their fingers on the photo sharing site, Instagram. It quickly caught on and Abby was overwhelmed by the response from netizens, with over a thousand photo contributions to date.
This paved the way for the beginnings of Alopecia Philippines. It aims to raise awareness about alopecia and correct common misconceptions and perceptions about it, provide encouragement to people afflicted with it, and create an online support community for them.
Inspired by Abby’s honesty and courage, men and women, kids and teens from different walks of life began sharing their own stories and struggles living with alopecia. What started out as a group of ten is now more than 300 members strong and its Facebook page – Alopecia Areata Awareness, draws followers from all over the world.
Novuhair has been supporting the cause for Alopecia Philippines through Abby Asistio. Abby have been using the brand continuously since March 2013 and she has only praises to share using the product.

TOP 20 PICKS AT "A CENTURY OF PHILIPPINE ART" EXHIBIT + SPECIAL FEATURE OF CHRISTIAN REGIS by Xandra

PICTURES POSTED

September 27, 2016

I went to "A Century of Philippine Art" exhibit last week at the top floor of the Century City mall. The works in the exhibit were works of a hundred years. All the works were made within the past century. There were works of rising Filipino Artists to the Fernando Amorsolo. There were all kinds of artworks.

As far as I know, this exhibit was in the care of Galeria de las Islas which is curated by Christian Regis, a Filipino artist

I was able to take pictures of my top 20 favorite artwoks from the gallery. I chose these 20 because they caught my eye and some have a more interesting inner meaning to it.

~~~
1. KAHIT NA...MASARAP by Karen Nabong
I loved how the artist incorporated objects into the art. It was lovely how it was cocnceptualized with all the food items together in the persona's belly
2. CLEAR PATH #1 #2 #3 #4 by Ronna Lara-bes
3. SAYAW SA APOY by Anjie Jimenez
This artwork caught my eyes simply because of its color. It used very warm tones, I love also, how there's contrast with a turquoise shade of blue in the midst of all the purple. That stood out.
4. CORDILLERA HOTEL, VIGAN by Loreto Racuya
This work reminded me of when I first learned how to use perspective in art. The first thing I drew with this newly-learned concept was a room, and this photo, reminded me of that.
5. TRANSCIENCE by Vaughn Lumibao
6. ACCISMUS by Vaughn Lumibao
7. PANATA by Patrick Macaso
8. YOU'RE HURT by Vaughn Lumibao
9. PRESIDENT ELPIDIO RIVERA QUIRINO by Fernando Amorsolo
President Quirino was actually the president when my lolo was in the senate. He is also the great lolo of one of my good friends so this guy, he stands out to me.
10.  CHOCKING GAMES by Vaughn Lumibao
11. PIETA by Francisco Riccardo Monti
My family loves the Pieta statue. We have a replica in my family's ancestral home and even at our family mausoleum. Its a bautiful image of the Mother Mary,carrying her beloved son, Jesus, in her arms.
12. THE CHASE By Vaughn Lumibao
I learned in the exhibit that
As an artist myself, I enjoyed viewing the gallery. There were so many beautiful sights to see from abstract arts, to portraits, to sculptures. I would really give a round of applause to Century City for creating such a beautiful exhibit and event.
ST. FRANCIS SQUARE SHOPPING HAUL By Xandra
September 13, 2016
Soooo my latest adventure is..... St. Francis Square!!! It's located behind SM Megamall. It's actually like divisoria but nearer especially for people that live in San Juan or Makati, especially that SM Megamall is along EDSA only. The prices are also 168 price! Like the 168 in divi. This is in the 2nd floor when you take the elevator by the way. (I went to the third floor then took the stair going down by one floor hehe)
~~~

I actually went there to buy culottes and slacks since I need formal clothes for school. So the first thing I looked for when I got there were culottes. I found them in a store that sells slacks and pants.

The culottes were sold for only 350PHP each! I got 2 pairs in 2 colors : black and white. These colors are really versatile and I can match these with my tops well. It has a smooth fabric and is stretchable. It comes with two pockets at the front too.

I got na rin slacks in the same store. It was like 350 to 400PHP a pair. I got brown since my formal tops are light colored and the fabric was really nice.

Since I got 3 pairs of pants from her, the tindera sold everything to me for 1000PHP!

My ate got one in black na rin. The lady sold the pants to her for 350PHP. Still cheaper than mall price.

~~~
Next thing I got was an off shoulder top. I think it's called a flare top. It looks well on me and it hides my fat arms. These were on sale for 200PHP. These tops on instagram are for 180-200PHP but you still have to pay for shipping.
~~~

Then I found this tank top. I need more of these to be honest. This is also really nice because it's thick and it feels durable. It also has lining and adjustable straps this was the last of this item and it was being sold for 280PHP

~~~
Short kwento, I just ran out of pambahay shorts. Last week, I didn't have shorts anymore since it was all in the laundry. This made me feel the urgency to buy more house shorts, so I did.
I got these shorts for 50 PHP each. It's nice, it has a ribbon and lace on the bottom and it's stretchable. So kaway kaway sa mga malalaki ang hita just like me! I spent 150 PHP for these 3 pairs.
~~~

Here's the breakdown of my expense:
White culottes
Black culottes
Brown slack (first 3 items for 1000 PHP)
Black slacks 350 PHP
Black off shoulder top 200 PHP
White tank top 280 PHP
Pink shorts 50 PHP
Brown shorts 50 PHP
Grey shorts 50 PHP
All in all, I spent 1980 PHP, and I used the change as fare.

So I would recommend all of you to shop here if you have the time especially if you are shopping in a budget or for a one time use. I definitely enjoyed shopping here.
